April 30, 2020 Silicon Valley Briefing Canceled

March 16, 2020

Dear Consuls,

We have been looking forward to hosting you for our 7th Annual Silicon Valley Briefing on April 30 at Stanford.  Out of concern for people’s health and well-being in our interconnected world community, we have decided to cancel this year’s briefing.  This decision is consistent with recent guidance regarding COVID-19 from local public health officials and Stanford.

Many Consuls already confirmed attendance for the 2020 briefing centered on an insider’s view of how Stanford is driving innovation and impact around the world.  The agenda included briefings, demos, or discussions from Stanford faculty and researchers on Silicon Valley’s 2020 trends and challenges, drones and robots, AI, science and food, cancer care, and global humanitarian service.  Although we will not be gathering for this briefing next month, we look forward to welcoming you to a future event.

In the meantime, please know we appreciate building bridges of understanding and collaboration with you here in the Bay Area and our global community.

 All the best,

Boyd Smith
